“A company having reached a new horizon”
—The New York Times
As the nation’s largest Latinx cultural organization and one of America’s Cultural Treasures, Ballet Hispánico returns to City Center after its critically and publicly acclaimed 2022 run of Doña Perón, part of the first City Center Dance Festival.
Ballet Hispánico uplifts and celebrates Latinx voices and artists. The Company takes the City Center stage with a program of incredible dance, beginning with an opening night performance and Gala paying tribute to The Miranda Family.
Season highlights include a signature work Club Havana, Pedro Ruiz's homage to his Cuban homeland; an audacious duet from New Sleep, in tribute to Ballet Hispánico’s founder Tina Ramirez (1929 – 2022), created by master choreographer William Forsythe; and two new works: Sor Juana by celebrated choreographer Michelle Manzanales; and Omar Román De Jesús’ first work for the Company, Papagayos.
