Two internationally beloved opera stars return to the Hollywood Bowl to perform show-stopping selections from the best of opera, operetta, and beyond. Jonas Kaufmann, often called “the world’s greatest tenor,” and Diana Damrau, one of today’s most sought-after interpreters of song, share the stage with Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil. Traversing scenes of Southern Italy, Dudamel conducts Verdi’s jolting Sicilian overture and Mascagni’s pastoral entanglement of longing strings. And when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Respighi’s colorful Pines offers the sounds of children frolicking in the pine groves, Gregorian chants echoing through the catacombs, and nightingales singing to the moon.
Location: Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles Nearest Metro Station: Hollywood/Highland Directions From Metro: The easiest way to get to the Bowl via public transportation is by taking the Metro B Line to Hollywood/Highland Metro Station. Catch the free Bowl shuttle at Ovation Hollywood (formerly Hollywood & Highland) to finish your trip when you show your valid Metro TAP card or GoMetro Round-Trip Pass.
